Rule Changes for 2009

1. Any ball becoming dead in a team’s end zone without surrendering points, the ball is next put into play on the 20 yard line, plus or minus any penalty applications

2. In the last 3 minutes of a half, if there are 2 changes of possession during the same play, the clock does not stop.

3. Tipped passes are now ignored, and are legal.

4. When a ball carrier deliberately throws the ball in the air, then catches it to avoid a tag, the ball is dead at the point the ball was thrown, tagged or not.

5. There is no longer an option to have Objectionable Conduct penalties enforced as live ball fouls, they are dead ball fouls ONLY.

6. The rusher must line up one yard outside the center’s feet, to maintain a clear and unobstructed path to the QB.

7. If a catch is made by an offensive player who committed Illegal Re-entry, the defense has a 3rd option, of the pass being declared incomplete.

8. Offside by either team on a kickoff can be applied as either a live ball 5 yard penalty (from kick off line) or as a 10 yard dead ball penalty (from end of the run)
